NAMING MY BABY
OK, I think most people who read this know me and therefore you probably already know what I'm up to. But for those who don't I'll finally fill you in ever so briefly on the business that I'm starting. It's crepes. I am going to be doing crepes out of a catering truck type deal and servicing the late night college scene and the downtown bar scene. The drunk and studying seem like a good target crowd to start with. I also may do a few business parks in the morning and the occasional outdoor festival on the weekends. Now I'm offering up this info because I need the help of the public opinion. What do I name my business? I was leaning towards Crepes & Coffee but I may not be able to afford to have the espresso machine right away so I don't want the name to be misleading in the beginning. My uncle came up with Crepes a la Carte, which has a cute french twist to it. I liked The Crepery, but it doesn't look like it sounds in my head and it's not a real word. <My cousin emailed me the correction. It's Creperie, which looked like the perfect commen sense spelling the second I saw it. Thx Rae> I also came up with The Great Crepe or The Golden Crepe. Ps... There is also The Great Creper, which again does not look the way it sounds. I don't want people to confuse me as being a creeper.

Leave me a comment or shoot me an email with your preference or any better ideas you may come up with. I have to register a business name pretty soon here. Thanks!

I'm Connected
Highlight of the weekend was buying a laptop. It's used, but it works for me. And its a dell latitude like my old one so all the parts are interchangeable. But when I took it into work yesterday, it wouldn't connect with their internet just like the old laptop. I thought the problem was my computer, but apparently it wasn't. This means there's a chance I didn't need to buy a new one. Anyways, my employers worked on their dsl and installed the needed drivers on my comp overnight and I'm finally connected at work. I finally can get things done while I'm here trapped in this house with this baby.

The rest of the weekend I was working for my clients on their house or avoiding working on my house. It's always nice to be paid to do an ikea run. Tonight Carrie is coming into town (or is she coming home? I can't tell whether she lives here or there.) Oh, forget that. She just called to say she's not coming. Big surprise!

I don't know why I bother. I keep making dates with this guy because I'm stuck in the memory of how it use to be. But now we've lowered the heat to a tepid cool and this game isn't cute. It's frankly quite lame. Another practically platonic evening. I had vowed to do something about it even if it meant me making the moves to ignite the flame, but I wimped out. Or was it that I was so turned off my his slightly violent brotherlike tendencies that most of my desire to highlight this guy as a romantic interest had fizzled. Anyhow, I lost minigolf and our wager was dinner. But really can I sit through one more platonic night with this guy? I'm slipping out of these jeans and into a sexy skirt to head down town. My friend (donning the same name as my date) is having a birthday get to gether and there are sure to be old friends and rivals there. I'm picking up Kristen and friends for backup. Life as well as this blog is starting to resemble Sex in the City. I think I am a mix of all 4 of them tv girls. Hmmm.

Tuesday, August 17

Sex in the City- Season 3 impacts on me: The Carrie Big thing gets me thinking about calling my ex. It has me thinking about whether he's engaged or married by now. Do I need to be having some sort of "my ex beat me to the punch" breakdown? Last I checked he had been with this chick for over a year and they were living together. I'm older than him so I should be the one to marry first. Then as I get to disc 2 in the dvd set I figure out about Carrie and Big's affair despite his marriage. This makes me think twice about calling. There's a strong force when we come face to face. We had a very deep yet unhealthy love for each other. Although I've kept my distance I may have become an issue for them at some point. He's an honest guy and is likely to fess up. I remember him telling me about kissing another girl. Last time I saw him we got caught up in the memories and the emotions and the reasons and the tears. I kept him until a sinful hour. His live-in was sure to demand answers and there's no good excuse to cover up the obvious. At 5:30 it's not a question of event as much as a question of who and why. I had forgave his transgressions and I assumed she did too. If they survive together then I need to stay away. Otherwise the prideful voice in the back of my head may tempt me to pursue a sign that ensures that I am still #1 and still win over all. A certainly evil thing to do given that I wouldn't ever get back together with him. Or would I? I have a pretty clear list of why I left and why I didn't return. 2 years apart made a different man but how much different is unknown. Perhaps another year has made him into the man I needed him to be the first time around. September is declared my month of discipline (motivated out of inspiration found in Nate). Maybe I call in October when life is more worth bragging about.

I know we live in a twisted world. I did just watch the Village for the 2nd time. But really, my word..... Remind me never to hire these people's caterer.

Police: Wedding guests eat victim

Tuesday, August 10, 2004 Posted: 7:28 PM EDT (2328 GMT)

MANILA, Philippines (AP) -- Four members of a family have been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly killing and eating a relative during a wedding reception -- and serving his flesh to unwitting party guests, police have said.

At the July 17 wedding of his daughter, Eladio Baule got angry with his cousin Benjie Ganay who tripped and accidentally touched the bride's bottom, said Senior Police Inspector Perla Bacuel, at Narra town in Palawan province, southwest of Manila.

A few hours later, Baule, his son Gerald, another cousin Junnie Buyot and a nephew, Sabtuari Pique, allegedly confronted Ganay, then drove him to a secluded place where they stabbed him to death, Bacuel said.

Buyot, who surrendered to police and is acting as a witness, told police they then roasted Ganay's body using coconut leaves and kerosene, Bacuel said.

Baule senior later forced Buyot to take a bite of Ganay's flesh, which he claims he threw up but was then forced at knifepoint to swallow, Bacuel said.

Buyot told police that the group returned to the party and served some of Ganay's cooked remains to guests who were still celebrating the wedding, Bacuel said.

"It was perhaps due to their drunkenness. They probably didn't know what they were eating," he said.

Buyot reported the incident several days later to a local village leader who took him to police. Pique also surrendered, and Baule and his son were arrested.

Superintendent Rey Lanada, Palawan provincial police chief, said cannibalism would be treated as an aggravating circumstance in the crime.

I'm always looking for unique recipes to try out and I find a plethora of recipes guest starring the likes of wasabi. These days baby girl has entered a most mischeivious state. Yesterday when I wasn't looking she shredded a whole pear using her bare hands. I need to get some proper baby proofing around that place. Haylee finally gave me her 30 days notice. I knew it was coming since she lost her job and then wasn't really trying to get a new one. She was saying she was going to get her portfolio together and focus on her photography career and in the back of my head I'm thinking "Ya, that's not going to pay the bills." I wish she had let me know sooner because Melanie hated where she moved to and absolutely would have moved back in with me. But she just finished moving back in with her ex boyfriend and she doesn't really feel like moving for a 3rd time in 3 months. So I'm looking for a new roommate. If you know of anyone, send em my way. My friend Stephanie is moving back from AZ and I'm hoping she'll move in and we had talked about it time and time before, but the chica has it stuck in her head that she needs to move home with her parents and save up some money before she can move out. I say nonsense. Live paycheck to paycheck like the rest of us. The cup full of change on my desk is my "savings".

40% of the US... I have very little interest in the midwest. It's either east coast or west coast. It could be good to take a cross country road trip. I haven't seen the grand canyon yet and I would like to snowboard Colorado and Idaho. I do plan to go to New Orleans soon. This will all help me make more red in my world of states.

It was a very pleasant family reunion this weekend. The most of us that had met up since my grandparents funeral. 12 of us in total plus 1 guest. 6 were missing. I cooked up a gourmet picnic for the family and we met up at Golden Gate Park for some food and sun. It was a beautiful day. And all my little cousins have grown so beautifully over the years missed. To oblige the youngins we went to the exploritorium and goofed around there. I got myself some cool toys from the gift shop. The clans headed home and I accompanied Ray and Ez to their friend's house where I meet the most gorgeous international rockstar who hardly acknowledges my existence. We leave him behind to go get soju and snackies with the rest. Today the rest of the family who were in town left my house. It's nice to have my room back and to have a clean house again. I come from a long line of slobs. I use to be one, but I some how conformed. Ray use to be one but Ez trained her to declutter. *Yawn* Getting late here.

Saturday, August 7

My family is in town from Portland, NYC and Reno. Portland and Reno families have never met. My cousin from NYC and I are facilitating a sort of family reunion. This is the largest amount of the family that has been together since my grandparent's funeral ten years ago. I am catering this picnic event. Tonight we went and played Bocce ball which was pretty fun. It's bed time. I have to be up in 2 hours to go get Carrie and take her to the airport. She's going to Minnesota and Atlanta. The real question is whether she will return.

Wednesday, August 4

Here's a pic Melanie sent me from the skatefest. I need a camera of my own. Sunstar popped into town around 4am and we hung out talking for a bit before I got back to bed. Eliza brought the lil girl she takes care of and met me down at B&N for story time. Then I went to my second job. Finally off of work at 11:30 so me and Sunstar go out to downtown bar scene. Now we are writing songs again, but I gotta go to bed.

Sunday, August 1

This weekend I was one sick girl with one sick kitty. Kitty was bleeding out of the ear so we went to the vet and threw down some doe. Indian food on friday night was delicious but made me ill on saturday. I saw The Village and that movie is great. M Knight Shayamalan comes through again with his awesome twists that get you thinking. I love everything he's done so far. Signs is an absolute favorite. Saturday I went for hikes and pedicures with Kristen. I spent the afternoon at the vet and then went out for sushi. Today was great. Kristen (ya all weekend long) came to church and we got Kelly to come to Capitola with us. We laid out for a while and then where beckoned to Margaritaville by Woody, Shawn, Mark and friends. Woody has a beach house there so we head back to his place for some hot tubbin and check out his Yager machine. Kelly sleeps it off while the rest of us head to Paradise sushi for... get this... Woody Rolls. Woody has a roll named after him. The Woody Brazilian Girl... but I didn't care for it. I'm exhausted tonight. Sunstar left me a vm and apparently he's coming to town tomorrow. I am so excited to hang with him. But I am realistic because I do recognize that he can be a damn big flake so we'll see.
